This is my Grandson!

Clark Kent
Clark Kent

If you happened to try to go to my blog on Saturday about noon you would not have been able to find it.
I was attempting to help a friend to start a blog of her own... and in order to figure out how to do some things... I set myself up an extra blog...

Well all went well UNTIL:

I was finished with the extra blog, so I decided to delete it (I did not want it hanging around since I would not be using it)

but since I don't really know what I am doing in Blog land... I deleted the wrong Blog...

After many attempts to restore it... and much frustration (and even a few tears and calling myself stupid!!) I called my wonderful, smart, and helpful daughter Jodi.

She was on another call so I talked to Brian (my grandson)...he was very helpful but still no blog to be found...

In my attempts to restore it I had listed my Blog address incorrectly..so no one would even be able to find me... you would all have thought that I had just run away from Blogland all together!! Brian told me to keep my mits off of the Blog until Jodi could call me back!!!

She was able to get my address corrected so you could all at least find me...

But My Super Hero Brian knew that his Mimi needed more help...

SO:

he kept looking on his computer until he found all my posts saved in "Bloglines"
and he found my blog with all my side bar still in google...

they told me it would probably be there for only about 24 hours:

SO:

I spent the rest of Saturday copying and pasting my blog from Google back into my new blog...
I still have many many post to copy and paste back into my current blog..

BUT

They would not let me give up!!!

And for that I am very grateful!

Thank you my Super Hero

Cathy told me what happened, Mimi. Glad you are back up and going strong. I would admit, if I did that, I would truly be upset. Lots of work you've had to do to restore your blog. Don't know if I'd be able to do that or not with 2 1/2 years of posts.

Barbara,
thanks for the sympathy..
since I've only been blogging since July 19th of this year...It was not as bad as if I'd been doing it as long as you...
I think if I'd had any more posts I'd have just let them go by the way side.. as it was I just combined 2-4
posts together on some of the oldest ones...
I told my kids that if I ever do that again just to take me out and shoot me!!

Mimi, I'm so happy you could restore your posts. You can save your favorite ones to your PC, because the web is such a fickle thing!

Oh my. This has been a fear of mine, too. I'd end up deleting mine, I'm sure. I don't mess with it much at all. I get my daughters to help me, too!
What a terrific grandson to be so helpful, as well.
Welcome back! ;0)

Oh, Mimi, what a shame! I would have been crying buckets of tears! Thank the Lord for your grandson and he is indeed a super hero. I love those pictures--so funny! So glad I didn't go looking for you to find you gone. That would have been upsetting.

Cute post, Mimi. I'm sure glad you had all that help. Don't know what in the world I would have done. Probably would have driven poor Barbara crazy. And still not have understood what to do! lol Anyway, all your fans are happy to have you back. :o)

Karen,
I'll bet you that I don't mess with mine any more either...I am afraid that I am not much help to anyone who wants to start a blog...
I'm thinking I had better refer her to someone who REALLY know what they are doing! :-)

Maxine,
I did cry cups of tears... if Jodi and Bri hadn't stepped in to help me it would have been oceans of tears :0) LOL

Hey Mimi, I'm just glad I could help. Mom tends to keep up with the HTML stuff. So just consider what I did as a add bonus. And just as a side note. Did your comment on my blog mean, that I'm really more of a Bat Man you know not sure which side of the law I'm on?

Thank goodness for your grandson! I am glad your blog is not lost forever! My son gave me a tip about this very thing. About once a week go up to file on your google bar and hit file, save and save it to a place on your computer! It will not save anything after that moment, but at least you would have your archives. That is why you do it about once a week to update your old one.

Who knew that little tiny guy that used to hang out at Mimi and Papaw's house would grow up to leap tall buildings ... er um ... big blogging holes ;op in one giant leap?? And he used to worry about being never getting tall enough!!

I'm proud of him, and I'm proud of you, too, ((Momma)). You did all the work and got things back to 100% before most people even knew it was missing!! Ya did good! ;o)
