Between 8 AM and 7 PM

Maos Picture Adorns All Sorts of Souvenirs, Including Clocks by Richard Nowitz
Maos Picture Adorns All Sorts of Souvenirs, Including Clocks

What does this mean to you?

  • To some people it means that someone special will be spending an entire day with them.

  • To others it may mean that they will be going somewhere for a nice day trip.

While still others may be watching the sunrise and the sunset on a leisurely Saturday at the beach.

But I'm afraid upon hearing these words on New Years day Jan 1, 2008...

  • it would mean serious Blog Withdrawals for me.....

I was told at about 11:00 AM on Jan 1st that the earliest a technician would be arriving at my home to repair my telephone line through which my internet connection runs would be between 8AM and 7PM on Friday Jan 4, 2008..
Now that is a serious lapse of time!!

The next question would be WHO would be the one elected to stay in the house all day on Friday and wait for this phantom person to arrive...

  • Since I was very sick on New Years with a serious chest cold one would think it should be me....

  • however

  • by the time Friday arrived... I had passed the five day time limit for my cold infection... so I was well enough to go to work...

Yup you guessed correctly... My sweet and Non-complaining (?) Husband.. stayed in the house from 8AM until the technician arrived!

Let's all guess what time he arrived...
  • We saw the whites of his eyes at 9:00 AM Saturday Jan. 5th...

  • It only took him 45 minutes to repair problem.... but 96 hours to begin the process....

now that is truly progress isn't it?....
(we used to talk to a person, they would come out and fix a problem and be done with it)

.. now we talk to automated phone lines... and automated messages keep calling us to tell us they will be here.....but they never show up!!

But enough complaining... I AM BACK... AND I MISSED YOU ALL!!!

Love,
Mimi

And we're glad you are back, Mimi. I know that was very frustrating. At least he finally did come and fix the problem. You are right about never being able to talk to anyone. It is ridiculous. Take it easy and get over that cold!

Good Evening Mimi,
"WELCOME BACK" to the wonderful world of blogging. I know what you mean about having to wait on someone to come and fix things. What gets me is, they sure want their money when the payment is due, but when you need them to do something for you, well they take their sweet time about doing it. I think they need to be paid a different way so they will start hustling. I am glad you are feeling better as well. I have missed you. I'm glad your daughter let us know you were sick. I am tired tonight. I have been gone all day and I may hit the hay early tonight. LOL. Take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.

Hugs,
Karen H.

Glad you're back, glad you're cold is gone!!
When we moved into our new house last summer, it took our cable man 2 extra days to get to us and when he finally arrived it took him 7 HOURS to hook us up, complaining about his terrible job all the while. All I could think was that maybe, just maybe, the cable company needs to have a little training seminar. Couldn't hurt!
