Shoes of Discipleship

I want to be thy disciple, Lord,
and walk with thee.
I'm ready with shoes
for every occasion of our journey:

Dainty heels for
walking down
cathedral aisles,

Rain boots for stormy weather,

Sturdy shoes for stony paths,

Sandals for happy, joyous ways.

These will not do, you say?
I'm cumbered with too many?
What must I carry then?

The single pair of shoes for
Christian discipleship
is Love?

Then fit them to my feet, Lord Jesus,
and teach me how to walk
in love everywhere.

Walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us (Eph. 5:2)

Great reminder that every step we take should be done with God, no matter what shoe or what path we are taking.

Re your comment - I had a good laugh this morning when I read what you said about what we grandmas do for those darlings. Too true!

The really frustrating thing about this techno junk is that it's worked well for about 2 years now!

What a wonderful post. Yes, may He fit those shoes to our feet so that we will walk with Him in all circumstances. I really like the different shoes you pictured. Hugs to you.

Amen, Mimi. We all need a good pair of boots to get through life and they definitely should be fitted by Jesus. :-)

Please drop by my blog in the next day or so and enter my giveaway.
