May the Star You Wish Upon

Peace on Earth, Star
Peace on Earth, Star

May the star you wish upon tonight
Lead to Bethlehem,
Where pilgrims throughout the ages
Have come to worship Him.

Although the manger's empty now,
We celebrate His birth,
For Christ was the greatest gift
Ever given on earth!

May the star you wish upon tonight
Fill your heart with love
And shower you with blessings
From Heaven high above.

May He whose birth we celebrate
Draw near to you tonight
As you gather with your loved ones
And sing by candlelight.

May the star you wish upon tonight
Bring the peace you desire
As you retell the Christmas story
Beside an open fire.
May every heart prepare Him room
And pause to worship Him...

May the star you wish upon tonight
Lead you to Bethlehem!

I am always glad to know of other churches that still have choirs and cantatas. It is such a big part of our life. We're excited about the children's musical this Sunday - Care Bear has her first speaking part, and has overcome her paralyzing stage fright that she's had since she was 2.
